A cold salt pillow can be used for the following problems:
- Injuries (sprains, bruises, strains),
- for nursing mothers with mastitis as a cold, dry compress,
- minor burns (e.g., sunburn),
- insect bites,
- for gout and arthritis.
The effect of a warm salt pillow
Using a salt pillow allows us to apply dry salt therapy and thermotherapy simultaneously at home.
One beneficial effect of heated Himalayan salt is its respiratory tract cleansing, soothing, and regenerating effect on the mucous membranes of the airways. When heated, salt ions enter the airways, capable of reaching even the smallest segments of the lungs, thereby helping to loosen and expel accumulated mucus.
The other main effect of heated salt is achieved through thermotherapy. Its pain-relieving effect is evident when placed on painful, crampy areas (e.g., earaches, menstrual pain, stomach aches in babies).
No harmful effects of Himalayan salt are known.
Heating the salt pillow
You can remove the removable cover of the Salt Mountain during heating from the inner, salt-filled pillow, or you can leave it on (the outer cover is made using natural textiles of such quality that it can be safely placed in an oven preheated to a low temperature!).
Heat the Salt Mountain in an oven preheated to 50-60 degrees Celsius for 25-30 minutes, then place it on the problem area!
You can sleep on it at night instead of a pillow, or place it next to your head while sleeping.
Cooling the salt pillow
Place the Salt Mountain in a plastic bag so that it does not get wet during cooling. Then place it in the freezer for at least 25-30 minutes, then place it on the problematic body part.
