If you search online for the benefits of sewing, you'll find countless articles listing its many positive physiological effects.
As autumn has begun, bringing with it a time for new beginnings, hustle, and bustle, I feel it's very timely to talk about this. During the autumn/winter season, it's good to pause occasionally and focus on ourselves!
That's why I thought I'd share my personal experiences with you, so you don't just read a list, but see through my example that it's truly effective!

But what does sewing have to do with slowing down?
When I worked as a middle manager at a large corporation, I felt a huge need to release the stress from my job. Craft activities, including sewing, were incredibly effective in helping me with this!
At first, I tried it alone at home, following videos, but then I became so curious that I enrolled in a course where I learned the basics of sewing, and it completely changed my life!
As soon as I started regularly practicing sewing in a community, among other things, I noticed these beneficial effects on myself:
- for 1-2 hours, my mind completely shut off and I didn't deal with my problems
- it brought out my creativity, which I thought I didn't have :)
- it developed my manual dexterity and my ability to concentrate
- I made new friends and became part of a wonderful new community
In addition, creating in a community helped me achieve successes. If I didn't know something or it didn't work out, I just had to turn to the side and I immediately received support and help, which allowed me to solve the problem.
Each time, I wanted to practice more and more, and eventually I loved it so much that I chose it as my profession!

If you take my advice:
Join communities, try yourself out at courses and workshops!
You'll see, the community and creating together have a fantastic power, and today there are so many opportunities to create with people like us!
What do you think? Will you give it a try too? :)
